How to delete your data
You can remove Business Connector's access to any account at any time, and ask us to delete everything we hold. Here is how, platform by platform, and what happens after you ask.
The short version: you can disconnect any connected account yourself at any time and the access we hold for it is erased immediately. To delete everything, email support@businessconnectorhq.com and we will delete it within 30 days, usually the same day, and confirm when it is done.
1.Three ways to delete your data
1.1 Disconnect one account in the dashboard
In the marketing dashboard your agency provides, open Connections (for social accounts, Social Management → Connected accounts) and press Disconnect on the account you want removed. That deletes the stored access token, the account's profile details, and the posts and scheduling we held for it. It takes effect immediately and you do not need to ask us.
1.2 Remove Business Connector in the platform's own settings
You can also revoke Business Connector directly from the platform. When you do, the platform stops our access straight away and, where the platform notifies us, we delete that account's data on our side without you doing anything else.
| Platform | Where to remove Business Connector |
|---|---|
| Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations → Business Connector → Remove. | |
| Settings → Apps and websites → Business Connector → Remove. | |
| Google and YouTube | myaccount.google.com/permissions → Business Connector → Remove access. |
| TikTok | Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and services permissions → Business Connector → Remove access. |
| Settings → Data privacy → Permitted services → Business Connector → Remove. | |
| Jobber | Apps (App Marketplace) → Business Connector → Disconnect. |
| QuickBooks Online | Apps → My apps → Business Connector → Disconnect. |
| Xero | Settings → Connected apps → Business Connector → Disconnect. |
1.3 Delete everything
Email support@businessconnectorhq.com with “Delete my data” in the subject line, and tell us the business name and the email address you use. We will confirm it is you, then erase your account details, your content, your connected accounts and the data received from them, and your customers' inquiries and orders. Anything we are legally required to keep for billing records stays, and we will tell you exactly what that is. You can also ask your agency to send the request for you.
2.Facebook and Instagram deletion requests
If you remove Business Connector from Facebook or Instagram and ask for your data to be deleted, Meta sends us a data deletion request on your behalf. We verify that the request genuinely comes from Meta, delete the data we hold for your Facebook and Instagram accounts, and answer with a confirmation code and a status link. Meta shows you both, so you can check for yourself that the deletion happened.
3.What happens after you ask
3.1 We confirm it is really you. For a whole-account deletion we check that you are the account holder, or are authorised by the business, first. Nobody gets to delete someone else's business data by sending us an email.
3.2 It is deleted within 30 days. Usually the same day. Thirty days is the outside limit because backups roll on a cycle: data can sit in an encrypted backup for a short time after it is gone from the live system, and then that backup expires too.
3.3 You get a confirmation. We write back and tell you it is done, and what, if anything, we had to keep.
4.What deletion does not do
Deleting your data from Business Connector does not delete posts already published to your own Facebook, Instagram, Google, YouTube, TikTok or LinkedIn accounts, or records in your own Jobber, QuickBooks Online or Xero account. Those live in your accounts and only you can remove them.
